Welcome to the PERTUBUHAN CIRED MALAYSIA ("CIRED Malaysia", "we", "our", "us") website and membership platform. By accessing or using our website at mycired.org, registering as a member, attending events, or using any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using any part of our platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered members.
2. Use of Website
You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. Specifically, you must not:
- Use the site in any way that violates any applicable local or international law or regulation.
- Transmit unsolicited or unauthorised advertising or promotional material.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or its related systems.
- Use the site to transmit any malware, viruses, or other harmful code.
- Scrape, harvest, or collect data from this site without express written permission.
3. Membership
CIRED Malaysia offers three categories of membership: Ordinary, Associate, and Collective. All applications are subject to approval by the Council of PERTUBUHAN CIRED MALAYSIA in accordance with the Constitution.
- Ordinary Membership: Open to Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above who are professionals in the electricity distribution sector.
- Associate Membership: Available to non-Malaysian citizens who are professionals residing in Malaysia and involved in the electricity supply industry.
- Collective Membership: Available to companies, organisations, institutions, and government departments whose application is approved by CIRED Malaysia.
Membership benefits are outlined on the Become a Member page and may change at the Council's discretion. CIRED Malaysia reserves the right to reject any application without providing reasons.
Members must notify the Secretariat of any changes to their personal particulars within 30 days of such changes.
4. Payments & Fees
The following fees apply (subject to change with 30 days' notice to members):

- All fees are in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are non-refundable once payment is confirmed.
- Annual subscriptions are due on 1 January of each calendar year.
- Failure to renew within 3 months of the due date may result in automatic termination of membership.
- Renewal applicants are not required to pay the entrance fee again.
5. Event Registration
By registering for an event hosted by CIRED Malaysia:
- You agree to the specific terms and conditions of that event as communicated upon registration.
- Event fees, where applicable, are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by CIRED Malaysia.
- CIRED Malaysia reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any attendee whose conduct is deemed disruptive or inappropriate.
- Photography and recording may take place at events. By attending, you consent to your likeness being captured and used by CIRED Malaysia for promotional purposes.
- Member discount rates apply only to current, active members at the time of registration.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, graphics, logos, images, technical papers, and software — is the property of PERTUBUHAN CIRED MALAYSIA or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content on this website without our prior written consent. Limited excerpts may be quoted with full attribution to CIRED Malaysia.
Technical papers submitted by members for publication remain the intellectual property of their respective authors, but CIRED Malaysia is granted a non-exclusive licence to publish and distribute them.
7. Privacy & Personal Data
Your use of this website is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using this website, you consent to the collection and use of your personal data as described therein.
We process personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia. Personal data collected through membership applications and event registrations is used solely for membership administration, event management, and communication purposes.
8. Limitation of Liability
CIRED Malaysia provides this website and its services on an "as is" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CIRED Malaysia shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services.
9. User Conduct & Code of Ethics
Members and users agree to conduct themselves professionally and in accordance with the Code of Ethics of the engineering profession. CIRED Malaysia reserves the right to suspend or terminate the membership or account of any user who:
- Engages in conduct unbecoming of a member of a professional organisation.
- Violates any provision of the CIRED Malaysia Constitution or By-Laws.
- Uses the platform to harass, defame, or harm other members or third parties.
- Provides false or misleading information in any application or communication.
10. Termination
CIRED Malaysia may terminate or suspend access to the platform at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately. Provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive.
Members may resign voluntarily by submitting written notice to the Secretariat. Resigned members are not entitled to a refund of any fees paid.
11. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
